Ok, so…you know how life gets in the way of the things you would rather be doing? Yep. Happened to us. The poor RV sat and while we tried to maintain it, we didn’t give it the care and feeding required to keep it happy. Anyway, hassles and expenses and major life changing events later, we are getting back on the road…for real.
Like, really for real.
Like, sold our business and have no more ball-and-chain obligations for real. Yeah…
As I write this we are about 70 miles from home base on the first successful outing with the RV flat towing our Jeep. I can call it successful because we made it to the campsite with no smoking, leaking or first responders. It’s funny all the character building that occurs when learning something new. My character feels VERY built. I may or may not write about these experiences here in the future. At least right now, I’m taking the “W” on this outing.
So the plan right now is this…a few more and longer stress tests with the RV dragging the Jeep on all fours for several trips for the rest of the year. Fix what breaks and move the hell on. Then, hopefully, hit the ground running at the beginning of the year to someplace south and warm while we plan the rest of the 2026 headed west to explore the rest of the country.
Oh…and I bet you’re wondering about that furry thing in the photo. That’s another one of our life-changing events. I guess this is a good time to introduce our travel buddy, Skye. Yes she’s a Siberian Husky. Yes she’s a little small for her breed but that’s how we ordered her. I’m kidding. We got the perfect size dog for us. No idea how, but we’re very happy with her. You’ll see her often.
About the videos on YouTube…right now Keli is enjoying her lack of deadlines, time restrictions and basically an early retirement, so if she wants to do videos again, it’ll be up to her.
In the meantime I’ll do my best to share some thoughts here for the 3 people that might accidentally find this and read it.
